Pumpkin seed oil
The tasty and physiologically nutritive pumpkin seed oil, extracted from the huskless seeds of the oil pumpkin, Cucurbita pepo convar. citrullina var. styriaca, was originally only to be found in Styria. Recently however, it has been gaining increasing recognition beyond Styria's borders.

This dark green Styrian pumpkin seed oil, which is extracted from pumpkin seeds by painstakingly pressing them, has been a speciality of Styrian oil mills for generations. Due to the many years of experience of trained master oil pressers, an ideal production process, which ensured the preservation of the valuable nutrients, was successfully developed.

Pumpkin seed oil is used primarily in salads (adheres better to the salad if it is added before the vinegar), but is also added to soups and sauces to give them a distinctive flavour.
